What’s the story behind the business name and how long has it been around?
Well, there is a long and short answer for our business name. The short answer is I am Victoria Elaine, it is my name! But the long answer is Elaine is my mother who passed away when I was younger. Having her name next to mine above the door can only be a good omen as she was such a sweet and kind person who would have adored helping our brides find their dream dresses! We opened in October 2018 and haven’t looked back since!
What services do you provide?
We have everything a bride could want for her wedding day outfit in our boutique. The team will assist a bride in finding the perfect bridal gown to suit her wedding, theme, style and body during a luxury 90 minute appointment in our boutique.
We pride ourselves on our exemplary customer service and expert advice, as well as the choice of designers we have on offer.
And once the bride has found her dress and said YES, we begin styling the bride tribe as we also have bridesmaids and flower girl dresses too!
How has COVID-19 impacted your business?
Just like all other non-essential shops, we were forced to close for 12 weeks which was really difficult. I spent that time really working on our online presence as a business so that when we opened up, more brides would know about it. And since we reopened on 16 June, we have been non-stop, welcoming well over 20 new brides to our #vebride club, hosting three trunk shows and signing up exciting new designers to sell from our boutique.
What’s your signature product/what are you particularly proud of?
There are so many things we are proud of in our boutique, but our selection of gowns has to be number 1! We are proudly the only stockist in Kent of our premium range, The Hayley Paige Collection.
We have had brides travel from as far as Wales to purchase a gown from her brand! Hayley designs gowns that fairy tales are made of! Lots of sparkle, glitter and custom made fabrics come together to create something unique in every gowns design! You may be familiar with her gowns as she features on TLC’s ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ regularly.
We adore Hayley’s style so much that we also carry her Hayley Paige Occasions bridesmaid range and La Petite Hayley Paige mini maid collection!
What are the plans for the rest of the year? Any special events?
We have so many plans for the rest of 2020! First of all, we will be hosting a Hayley Paige trunk show
on the weekend of 24 and 25 October – but book soon as brides are already requesting appointments!
Also in October, we will be celebrating our second birthday, which will be nicely timed with the launch of our newest collection. I am extremely excited to announce that we will the South East stockist of the ‘Disney Fairy Tale Weddings’ collection! This is a brand new collection where the world renowned bridal designer, Allure bridals, has teamed up with Disney themselves to design a range of bridal gowns, each one based on a different Disney Princess! So whether you are a ‘Cinderella’, ‘Belle’ or even a ‘Pocahontas’, there will be a dress to amaze you! Even better, we have already signed up to receive to the second collection once it’s released in Spring 2021! Disney fever is coming to Maidstone, you won’t want to miss it!
