Art-K Maidstone takes children 6 to 16 years old and adults on an extraordinary exploration of art. Our programme is personalised to each individual to enable each person to learn and develop at their own speed.

Our aim is for students to explore and experiment with a range of mediums like watercolour, acrylics, pastels, inks and oils to develop their skills in observation, drawing, painting and sculpture in a relaxed and happy environment.

In our childrens classes, each project focuses on developing specific techniques as well as incorporating 4 core visual skills: visual memory, fine motor control, spatial awareness and visual perception which all support children in developing a visual vocabulary which will influence their own artistic style as they grow. As theirskills develop, it’s lovely to see them gain the freedom and confidence to express themselves..

Our adult classes are also fully tailored to each student. For less experienced artists we offer structured projects to develop thier skills in various mediums and for more experienced students, the classes are all run by talented artists who can provide support and advice in developing your ideas and assisting with new techniques

Our art teacher in Maidstone is Pip, she is a qualified teacher and artist who enjoys working with sculpture and sketching, she is fascinated with capturing the effects of light in all aspects of her art. Having previously run the Purley branch, she has come to open up art-K’s first branch in Kent.
